Back in my pre-RVing days I would also snub my tent-having nose at RVers, "what cowards! That's not camping!" I'd say. I'm an old man now, though, and need something big enough to keep my giant old man beard in. :) I always say no to the KOA membership, thinking "Well, we won't ever come back to one of these," and lo and behold, we sure do. We are tent campers and tend to avoid KOAs because of the cost and the annoying RVers (HA!). But I've been pleased with the amenities each time I <i>have</i> decided to give 'em a shot. When we live on the road full time, I'm going to seriously consider a KOA membership. You’ve hit the nail on the head!
