Wow that's a pretty nifty gadget Joe! I'm guessing we could plug any USB datacard into it which would be handy. Some places only have AT&T access and some only have Sprint...

Alternatively an RVing friend of mine has a repeater that boosts the signals of all the wifi networks in the area, picking up signals from far away. Ive been thinking about getting one of those.

That is pretty nifty, Joe - I hadn't seen those when we first started this whole thing. I was really hoping to find a way for us to share one Sprint connection, instead of having to sign up for two monthly plans with a two year contract.

Olivia and I actually stayed in Portland for the summer of 2007 and I've visited a bunch of other times. I do love Portland, for sure, and had planned on moving there for a long time, but it never worked out. I've actually got a roadtrip within this roadtrip planned out for this summer, which ends in Portland, and I'm sure we'll be stopping through one way or another this year.

Oh and Austin has trees! Whether it has great coffee, however, is debatable. :)

Hi Nathan,

Here is a product that isn't as sexy but does the same thing: http://www.amazon.com/Cradlepoint-CRADLE-PHS300-Personal-Hotspot-Black/dp/B001212ELY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241807359&sr=8-2

It is battery powered and will allow you to plug in any usb based 3g / wimax data service and create a wifi cloud.

Here is a pic to judge the size: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3645/3423501355_4e6228c651_b.jpg

Hope you are doing well in TX. Let me know if Portland, OR is ever in your sites. It is like Austin but with rain, trees, and great coffee.
