Leaving Pittsburgh, Part 4 of the Truly Neverending Saga

Nathan posted this in Nathan's Log, Personal Posts

We had a successful little two week stint in our RV. Everything was running well, I was checking our fluids every other day, fires were had, the awning was enjoyed, life was great.

Until we just happened to be rolling through Pittsburgh on our way west, when it happened: more transmission problems. It didn’t catch on fire this time, but it was having a helluva time shifting. So we decided to stay the night in a local Walmart parking lot (our first night of boondocking, done right!) and stop down at the garage that fixed us up with the new trannie in the first place.

They had a look at the old girl and broke the news: the transmission was faulty and they need to replace it. So we’re stuck in Pittsburgh again for at least another week.

And then, to boot, Olivia’s back completely gave out on her. She’s 31 years old, and I guess her back, like our transmission, just can’t manage to keep her running any longer. So maybe the timing is perfect, it’ll give the old lady a chance to recuperate even as the RV has its chance to have its gears stripped and reworked again.
