Major Setbacks of the Transmission Variety

After a week of waiting to find out what exactly was wrong with the RV, we found out today that the transmission is totally shot. No forward, no reverse, nothing. So our first setback is proving to be quite the major one. The tranny will cost about $5000 to fix and will take another week to get the parts in and have it installed. Yeah, that sucks. On a brighter note, however, our friends Shawn and Julie have put us up in their spare bedroom for a couple of days and so we spent yesterday sitting on Shawn's back porch over a few beers and discussions on the latest state of affairs in the world of the Internet worker followed by a healthy dose of cavorting with friends until the wee hours of the morning. I'm going camping and white water rafting tomorrow, for a little spiritual pick me up and a chance to get my head underwater. Shawn and Julie's back porch
